Features listed and image quality from this review may not be the most current. Note: GitUp is constantly releasing firmware updates for the Git1 and Git2 cameras. Sadly, the Git2 doesn’t offer razer sharp image quality as I had initially hoped for. The RF watch, gyroscope, external mic and AV output, would be extremely useful and/or convenient to have. In my opinion, this action cam would be ideal for situations that could take advantage of the unique features of the Git2, like on a drone. At $109.99USD, there is certainly a lot of value in the Git2 Pro. The Git2 can record in true 1440p 30fps, whereas most other cameras, such as the Xiaomi Yi, top out at 1080p 60fps.įollowing the formula of the original SJ4000, you get a ton of accessories and mounts bundled with the camera. Not sure if waterproof though.Ĥ) 2560x1440p (2K) resolution. I have the optional RF watch, which allows you perform four key actions instantly from your wrist (ie. You get the illusion as if the Git2 is floating, while my car is bouncing around.ģ) Remote control RF watch. This really works! Take a look at the sample clips and you can see how stable the video remains as I drive on bumpy Toronto roads. The built-in internal mic is not half bad either – better than the Xiaomi Yi.Ģ) Gyroscope Image Stabilization. The Git2 is one of the few budget dashcams that works with an external (mini USB) microphone out of the box. So why choose this camera over the Xiaomi Yi or another budget action cam?ġ) External microphone support. See sample clips and try to judge for yourself. I found that the RAW video files were a little fuzzy taken right off the SD card. It’s not grainy, washed out nor terribly flawed, but it’s just not sharp - and it’s not ‘cause of YouTube’s compression either. I was a little disappointed with the video quality at 2560x1440p. With regards to video quality, I would rate it as decent in both night and day. In the meantime, GitUp recommends using the “FinalCam” app (free download for iOS and Android). GitUp is currently working on their App for the Git cameras, and is expected to have it completed within the next 2 months. You could also do this on the camera directly with the 1.5” LCD screen and button presses. When paired with a mobile device, you can perform basic tasks like review/ delete footage, as well as change camera settings on the fly. The Git2 has the typical dashcam features such as auto start up/shut down, seemless-loop cycle recording, motion detection, G-sensor, screen saver, and more – no GPS, however. It looks like the GitUp designers had more in mind than just an action cam. The Git2 features the Novatek 96660 chip with a 16MP Sony Exmor IMX206 CMOS (same as that found in the Xiaomi Yi). It has the familiar GoPro style body enclosed in a removable waterproof case (rated for 30m), and is compatible with all GoPro mounts. Today, I’m taking a look at the oddly named GitUp Git2 (Pro Packing) action cam. Thanks to GitUp and Pier28 for supplying these units. However, 35 of its workers are listed on LinkedIn, where they do have a presence. The staff is not mentioned on the Loom Network website. As a result, a valid form of digital democracy will be created, with the community having the last say on any DApps operating on the blockchain. There is no possibility of servers being shut down by a centralized authority because it is a decentralized network. When used this way, the blockchain becomes a repository for user data. To include 2-factor authentication into a DApp, a developer might connect to Google Authenticator. They think that by offering more processing power, lower prices, and network architecture that can support an unlimited number of transactions, they can encourage developers to create new DAapps and smart contracts.ĭevelopers would be able to leverage third-party APIs that aren’t even on the blockchain in one such use scenario. The Loom Network’s technology was designed to solve these performance and scalability problems. The network must have the speed and ability to handle an ever-increasing volume of transactions easily since it will enable tamper-resistant and transparent record keeping.ĭue to the manner that most blockchains have been constructed, security has come before speed and scalability, which has caused problems for almost all of the current blockchain networks. Speed and Scalability on EthereumĪny decentralized blockchain network depends on how quickly data can be sent. But in video games and on social media, survival depends on more than that. Over 50 people make up the Loom Network team, and its growth is promising. The Loom Network is already home to CryptoZombies, Zombie Battleground, What is Blockchain, EthFiddle, EthDeploy, SolidityX, and DelegateCall. The potential rewards of serving these big markets are enormous, and developers are jumping on board. With its 4+ billion users, social media is keeping up, and cryptocurrencies like Steem (STEEM), Reddcoin (RDD), and even Dogecoin (DOGE) are bridging any gaps that may exist. The rivalry in gaming is intense, as you might expect. On Ethereum, Decentraland (MANA) offers a virtual reality (VR) environment with comparable objectives. Crypto collectibles and games are among the top dApps operating on the Ethereum network, drawing much interest from crypto businesses and users in the $80 billion gaming sector. Video games now lead the battle to integrate blockchain and cryptocurrencies into current technological platforms. The Loom Network’s exclusive ERC-20 membership token, the LOOM token, grants access to DAppChains. On the Ethereum mainnet, Loom DAppChains are parallel sidechains connected to smart contracts. The Loom Network is a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) network built on Ethereum with an SDK geared at creating massively multiplayer, decentralized social games and apps. The current CoinMarketCap ranking is #278, with a live market cap of $81,369,338. It has a circulating supply of 1,300,000,000 LOOM coins and the max. Additionally, it provides the technology necessary for these dApps to offer a quick and smooth user experience across several chains. The platform provides developers with the information and resources they need to create and distribute high-performance decentralized apps. Although this has broadened network acceptance, it hasn’t yet resulted in greater demand for their LOOM token.įor professional dApp developers, Loom Network (LOOM) has emerged as a production-ready, multichain interoperable platform. On the Loom Network, several developers have already created their game dApps. The crucial concern at the moment is how the Merge will affect Loom Price Prediction. The Loom Network is a somewhat exciting project that competes to become the top Ethereum-based platform for creating social games and apps. Very few movies in this often average, if not flat out disappointing, genre have seem to be able to do it well, but Lights Out nails it. It has that that very unique, and seemingly difficult to achieve blend of jump scares and cheeky fun. The movie shares more in common with the better entries in the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise than it does with any other paranormal horror movie. Lights Out has done a terrific job of occupying that space that was inexplicably empty. At the rate that Hollywood churns out horror movies, you would think somebody would have made a good movie at some point prior to now that had to do purely with us being afraid of the dark. Honestly, it is just astonishing a movie like this wasn't made sooner. The answer is by not over complicating it and just trying to do two very simple things scare you and have fun while doing it. Anyone who saw that short probably had a reasonable question in mind about how the simple concept of a figure appearing when the lights are turned off could be stretched to a full movie. That turned out to be a pretty good idea. and James Wan, so they decided to give Sandberg a shot at turning his terrific and terrifying short into a feature. That seemed to catch the attention of Warner Bros. It played very simply and very effectively on our natural human fear of the dark in a very brilliant way. A couple of years ago, a short movie, also named Lights Out, started making the rounds at festivals and eventually online. When faced with a street closing in Manhattan, the intern couldn’t fathom walking around the block to reach her destination. Some time later, Ricky and I were discussing our department intern with another coworker, Holly. Stigma Led to Disclosing My Mental Illness at Work And he likes people with a lot of character. Upon hearing its name he said, “You’re bipolar? Cool." Ricky is the kind of person who appreciates perceived shortcomings as character building. If this is the case, and your husband is such a monster every time he gets bad news that you've begun hiding things from him to protect your safety, I would encourage you to think long and hard about the safety of having him in your life at all.My coworker Ricky is a photographer, and I asked him to take some pictures for my personal blog. That said, maybe your husband's response will be much worse than I've guessed. Getting fired a dozen times won't change that. But remember what's true: You hold intrinsic value, and that's why you deserve the life you have. Which means any response that isn't 100% comfort and reassurance will likely feel like someone has you by the jaw and is rubbing your face in your failure. How can I get her to sign?Ĭhances are, tolerating his response will be painful for you because it sounds from your letter like you're ashamed of getting fired. But when I am in an unhealthy place, it feels like it might be. It's infuriating, even hurtful, but is it the end of the world? Maybe your husband wouldn't take your news well, and perhaps you're own unhealthy tendencies are causing you to catastrophize his reaction. Sometimes, knowing this, their partners hide the truth from them to avoid whatever negative blowback they know from experience they're likely to receive.Īnd often, one person's choice to hide significant truths from the other is a complicated combination of both people being the problem. Some spouses will melt down in fear or fury. Some partners cannot be trusted with the brutality of truth. Unfortunately, just because this is how marriage "should" be, doesn't mean it always is. The person who you should be able to tell everything to without fear, and then, he helps you with it. Then you might lose him.Įxcept, your husband is not a prize that you must retain at all costs. You didn't want to tell your husband and risk him seeing you as the failure that you fear you are. If you believe that lying, finessing, and sneaking around has earned you everything you hold dear, in moments of stress (i.e., losing your job over an honest mistake), your impulse will be to lie, finesse, and sneak around. Outside of this mindset's glaring self-esteem implications, it can majorly impact the health of our relationships. It's Impostor Syndrome, but it's about our whole lives. A value we worry isn't on par with all the wonderful things we have. Because while others in your position might consider going home and crying on their partner's shoulder the most natural thing in the world, people like you and I see confessing our failure as something else - an admission of our true value. But I think a lot of us can relate to the feelings that led you here. If you need to convert a video's codec, you can use transcoding software such as Handbrake. Codecs usually work automatically within the program of your choice, so you shouldn't need to worry about them. They essentially shrink your file down for storage and then decompress them again when you're ready to view them. So, essentially, if your file is in the gigabyte range, you'll want to get it down to the megabytes.Ĭodecs are the code used to compress your video. Generally, you'll see files measured in kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes and terabytes: What's a byte?Ī byte is a unit of measurement used for digital files. Alternatively, you can upload your uncompressed video into Dropbox and share without worrying about compression. If the video is long, it will take a very long time to compress, so you can waste a lot of time if you export as the wrong file format. Most video editing programs will let you choose your resulting file format, including MP4, AVI, MOV, and WMV. These programs require you to open your video, usually by clicking "open" or "import." Then, exporting converts them to a new file type. Alternatively, you could send your video in a ZIP compressed file, but this will require your recipient to download it on their end. Most video editing programs, such as iMovie for Mac or Windows Video Editor for Windows, come with a built-in video compressor. This is when things start getting "pixely," "grainy," and generally not viewable. You'll only start to see compression wreak havoc on display quality if you want to shrink a file down to a tiny file size while maintaining resolution. Think about how a Hollywood movie goes from cinema screen size to a DVD, playing on any home TV without lag. To the human eye, this loss is hardly noticeable. Video compression occurs by removing repetitive images and sounds as determined by the codec algorithm. Depending on the original size, this quality loss may not be noticeable, but that all depends on how small you need your video file size. However, it usually means overall quality takes a hit. Essentially, compressing your video cuts a chunk off the size needed by your file. That means your video won't fit into your message, or your recipient can look forward to a lengthy download period on their end. Unfortunately, almost all file sharing methods, from email to instant messaging, have file size limits. Video compression is a way of shrinking your video file size. Compressing your videos solves this problem. Sharing high-quality videos between teams and clients can be frustrating since video files size are bulky at the best of times. Technology is a wonderful thing, but there are still some things that can make even the most tech-savvy person get a little anxious.
When I decided that I needed a system to organize all that I was learning about my vegetable garden I came across a TON of vegetable garden journal templates. And last (but not least) the following amazing FREE vegetable garden journal printables to help organizeħ Free Vegetable Garden Journal Printables.Tab Dividers: While this is optional, this is ideal for keeping sections organized as you add more information year after year. Clear Page Protectors: Perfect for holding seed packets and plant tags which are LOADED with information.A 3-ring Binder: Either a 1-inch or 2-inch binder is the best size to start with. Here’s what I used to create my vegetable garden journal: And with a 3-ring binder, I can easily add budget worksheets as I need them. Right now I’m not interested in tracking those, but I might in the future. For example, some gardeners like to track their expenses to help budget for the next growing season. Personally, I used a 3-ring binder because it allows me flexibility to insert and remove sheets. And there is a variety of journals to choose from, whether it be a spiral notebook, 3-ring binder, or a commercially-published garden journal. What You Need to Start a Vegetable Garden Journal?Įvery journal is personal, including a vegetable garden journal. It’s tailored to your skill level and what YOU think is important to learning and improving your gardening skills. That’s what is so great about keeping your own gardening journal. It can be simple and basic, or comprehensive and detailed. Quite simply, it’s a record of your vegetable garden – what is planted where, how many of each plant, which plants thrived and which ones didn’t, and anything else worth recording that supports and improves your garden. The solution to keep my vegetable garden organized for years to come? Enter the vegetable garden journal.Īdmittedly, I should have started a vegetable garden journal back in the spring, but a gal has got to start somewhere, right? What is a Vegetable Garden Journal? And I learned that while Lacinato kale grows well in my garden, we absolutely despise the taste.īut will I remember that next spring? Probably not. Next year, I’ll struggle to recall – Which crops did I plant? Was there enough of it? Did it grow well? For example, arugula grew amazingly in my garden, so I need more than this year’s 6 seedlings. Next year I can’t wait to plant another larger vegetable garden.īut here’s the problem. Some crops are growing like crazy, others are just stunted sprouts. And instead of the short-list of peppers and tomatoes, I planted a wider variety of veggies – eggplants, radishes, onions, lettuces, leeks, gerkins, celery, carrots, garlic, watermelon.Īnd now it’s the end of July. So this spring, I bought and sowed seeds for the first time. I was nervous that the trend would continue through the summer and my family wouldn’t have fresh fruits and veggies available. Fresh Produce: In spring when covid-10 first hit, my grocery store struggled keeping fresh produce stocked on the shelves.Quality Time: The whole family was home more (as were so many of us) so gardening was a perfect way to simultaneously occupy them and work on the house.Nothing too spectacular – a couple of tomato, cucumber and peppers, bought as seedlings from a big box home improvement store.īut this year with Covid-19 I dug more seriously into gardening (pun intended). Backstoryįor the past few years I’ve planted a vegetable garden. As such, I earn from qualifying purchases. This post contains affiliate links, including but not limited to Amazon Associates. This escalation of the epic concept really added confusion to the mix, because now when people say “epic” you have to figure out whether they are talking about SAFe epics, or epics as otherwise defined (which tend to resemble features in the SAFe hierarchy) How can we clear up this confusion? Translation: They are something that is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike a project. In this case, epics are not big user stories, they are “ containers for initiatives”:Īn Epic is a container for a solution development initiative large enough to require analysis, definition of a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), and financial approval prior to implementation. Instead of having a single product backlog with different sized backlog items in it, you now have a team backlog with user stories, a program backlog with features (another term that generates confusion) and a portfolio backlog with epics. Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) departed from both of the above views of epics and took the idea of hierarchical backlogs to a whole new level by creating a hierarchy of backlogs. Epic is a Project (but we don’t call it that) It’s difficult to tell whether having a separate thing, as opposed to a bigger version of the same thing, actually furthers that goal. Having a hierarchy improves the ability for teams to keep ideas at a high level until they are ready to implement them, and to keep sight of a coherent bigger solution. Some teams created rules about the relationship between epics and user stories and whether a user story could exist without being associated to an epic.Īs teams implemented these structures and rules, they also incurred the overhead to maintain them and to discuss (argue?) the fine nuances of treating requirements properly. When epics became a separate concept from user stories, and both were viewed from a requirements paradigm, people sought a specific way to represent epics, and a way to tell them apart from user stories. An epic can span more than one project, if multiple projects are included in the board to which the epic belongs. For example, performance-related work in a release. Take for example this description of epic (as a type of delivery vehicle) from Atlassian:Īn epic is a large body of work that can be broken down into a number of smaller stories. They wanted to have a hierarchical structure to those requirements, and they wanted tools to support that hierarchy.Įpics became a type of backlog items separate from, but containing, user stories. Epic is a Separate Type of Backlog ItemĪs teams wanted to add more rigor to their backlogs, they began to think of backlog items as requirements. Kind of like agile should really be an adjective.įor the record, this is the gist of the definition we used in the Agile Glossary because it was the originally intended meaning. In effect, he’s suggesting that epic should be used more as an adjective rather than a noun, even though he structures his sentences to use it as a noun. “Yes,” I reply, “But they are mostly epics.” That tells you that while I did write them, I didn’t get the chance to break most of them down into stories that are probably small enough to implement directly. Suppose you ask me if I had time yesterday to write the user stories about the monthly reporting part of the system. Similarly, calling a story an “epic” can sometimes convey additional meaning. There’s probably some car chases, probably some shooting, and so on. If I tell you a particular movie was an “action-adventure movie” that tells you something about the movie. I like to think of this in relation to movies. We call large stories “epics” to communicate something about them. Mike provided a bit more insight into his intended use of the word epic in this post Mike Cohn described the concept of epic this way in his 2004 book User Stories Applied to Agile Software Development: “When a story is too large, it is sometimes referred to as an epic.” Here are the most common interpretations of epics, and what I’ve found to be the best way to deal with the confusion. When I work with teams to figure out how to deal with their backlogs, those different meanings can cause quite a bit of confusion. “Epic” has taken on a variety of different meanings over the course of the last 16 years. Then I reflected on the various conversations I’ve had with teams over the years, and realized writing a definition for epic isn’t nearly as simple as it should be. A few days ago, I added a glossary item for epic to the Agile Glossary.Īs I started writing that entry I thought crafting a definition of epic should be really straight forward. SongKong is a reliable alternative to other tag managers, since it synchronizes the metadata information with online databases. You get to choose the comparison criteria, be it the audio format, the bitrate, the filename, the track length or the MusicBrainz ID. Altrenatively, you can choose one of the available rename patterns for a track or a compilation.Īside from fixing songs on the spot, SongKong can be instructed to constantly monitor a music folder, which means that any new file you place in it will be automatically processed. Unmatched files can be moved to another location, in the attempt to exlude them from your collection.īased on the downloaded metadata, the application can easily rename the files. You can use it to update the song genre, automatically translate the artist name to English, modify the track title, assign a song the original release date found online or add the release type (EP, single, compilation, remix, live) to the title. SongKong is capable of updating the metadata of your songs by downloading information from online databases, namely MusicBrainz, Discogs and Cover Art Archive for the cover artwork, which can be resized and saved locally. Unfortunately, only one folder can be monitored, which means you will have to move all the songs into a single directory. The application features an intuitive interface that provides quick access to all the options, enabling you to immediately proceed to updating song information.
